Not all paper is created equal. The right paper can make your poster look like a professional gallery print. The wrong one can make it look flat, dull, or cheap. Here's everything you need to know.
1. Matte Photo Paper — The Best All-Rounder
Matte photo paper is the go-to choice for most printable posters, and for good reason. It produces rich, accurate colours with no glare or reflection — which means your poster looks great from any angle, in any lighting.

2. Glossy Photo Paper — Maximum Colour Impact
Glossy paper produces the most vibrant, saturated colours of any paper type. If your poster has bold, bright tones, glossy paper will make them pop. The downside is glare — under direct light, reflections can make the image hard to see.

4. Fine Art / Cotton Rag Paper — Museum Quality
Fine art paper (sometimes called cotton rag or archival paper) is the premium choice for serious prints. It has a beautiful texture, exceptional colour depth, and is acid-free — meaning your print will last for decades without fading.

5. Standard Office Paper — Only for Testing
Standard 80gsm office paper is fine for a test print to check composition and sizing, but it's not suitable for a final poster. Colours will look washed out and the paper will feel flimsy.

Our Recommendation
